Super 8 wedding films are having a moment — and if you’ve landed here, you’ve probably already seen one that stopped you mid-scroll and made you feel something. That grain. That warmth. That feeling that you’re watching a memory, not a production.
We’re Bridges Cinema. We’ve been filming weddings for over 15 years, and Super 8 is the format we reach for when couples want something that will still move them twenty years from now. We’re based in Miami and Dallas and we travel — a lot. If you’re planning a wedding and want to understand what Super 8 actually is, what it costs, and whether it’s right for you, this page has every answer.
And if by the end of this you want to talk about your date — we’d love to hear from you.
Super 8 is physical, analog film — actual celluloid loaded into a camera, exposed frame by frame, and sent to a lab to be developed and scanned. It’s the same format home movies were made on from the 1960s through the 1980s. The grain, the warmth, the slight imperfections — none of that is a filter or an edit. It’s the nature of the medium itself.
When you watch a Super 8 wedding film, it doesn’t look like it was shot yesterday. It looks like it happened a long time ago in the best possible way. Like something worth keeping forever.
Standard digital wedding videography is clean, sharp, and accurate. It captures exactly what was there. Super 8 captures how it felt.
Digital gives you clarity. Super 8 gives you soul. The two aren’t competing — they’re complementary. Which is exactly why most of our couples choose both.
No — and we’d actually discourage you from going Super 8 only. The format doesn’t record audio the way digital does, and your vows, your toasts, your father’s voice when he sees you — those moments deserve to be heard.
What we do instead is what we call a fusion film. We shoot the ceremony and key moments on digital for audio and clarity, then weave Super 8 throughout for texture, warmth, and feeling. The result is a film that has the soul of analog and the substance of digital. It’s the most requested thing we offer, and honestly, it’s how we’d film our own wedding.
Imagine your first look — but instead of crisp, high-definition footage, it has a warm, golden glow. The edges are slightly soft. There’s grain in the shadows. The motion has a gentle, dreamlike quality that makes the moment feel like it’s already a cherished memory.
That’s Super 8. It’s not about technical perfection. It’s about emotional truth.
We shoot on Kodak Super 8 film stock — the same professional-grade film used in cinema. Every roll is sent to a lab, developed by hand, and scanned at high resolution before being edited into your film.
Super 8 coverage at Bridges Cinema starts at $2,500 for three rolls of film. That’s enough for a beautifully crafted short film woven throughout your wedding day.
Most couples pair it with our digital cinematography package for a complete fusion experience. Every quote is customized — the number of rolls, the events covered, and what your final film includes all depend on your wedding. The best way to get an accurate number is to reach out and tell us about your day.
We’ll build something together that fits your vision and your budget. There are no surprise fees, and we’ll walk you through everything on a call before you commit to anything.
In Miami we’ve filmed at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, The Breakers Palm Beach, and a number of the area’s most beautiful waterfront properties — locations where the light and the architecture give Super 8 film everything it needs to sing.
In Dallas we’ve been drawn to Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, the Adolphus Hotel, Knotting Hill Place, Nasher Sculpture Center, and Arlington Hall. These are spaces with soul — and that’s exactly what Super 8 is made for.
We also film in Washington D.C., throughout the country, and internationally. If your venue isn’t on this list, tell us about it. Some of our favorite films have come from spaces we’d never been to before.
For peak wedding season — spring and fall in both Miami and Dallas — we recommend reaching out 10 to 14 months before your date. Super 8 books faster than our digital-only packages because there are more moving parts and we limit how many analog projects we take per month to protect the quality of each one.
If your date is sooner than that, reach out anyway. We do take select last-minute bookings when the timing works. The worst we can say is that we’re unavailable — but we’ll always tell you quickly so you can plan accordingly.
Typically 10 to 14 weeks from your wedding date. The Super 8 film has to be physically shipped to the lab, developed, and scanned before we can begin editing — that process alone takes several weeks. We build this into your timeline from the beginning so there are no surprises.
In the meantime, we send you a preview clip within the first few weeks so you have something to watch while we finish the full film.
We’ve been featured in Vogue, People Magazine, Brides, ESSENCE, and Black Bride. We’ve filmed for celebrities, athletes, and couples whose weddings have been featured in some of the most respected wedding publications in the country.
But the thing we’re most proud of isn’t the press. It’s that couples still watch their films years later and feel the same thing they felt on the day. That’s the standard we hold every project to.
We specialize in multicultural and luxury weddings, we understand how to read a room and disappear into it, and we bring that same intentionality to every roll of Super 8 we load. We’re also one of the very few studios in Texas and in South Florida — offering Super 8 as a premium option.

We don’t do hard sells. We don’t send templated responses. We take the time to understand what you’re looking for, and if we’re the right studio for you, we’ll make that clear. If we’re not — we’ll tell you that too.
Your wedding film is the one thing from your day you’ll watch for the rest of your life. It should feel exactly right.
